This Sunday is Pentecost also known among Anglicans as Whitsunday. This is the day the Christian Church celebrates and remembers the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and disciples and other followers in attendance that Sunday in Jerusalem. Because this event signaled the beginning of the apostles public proclamation of Jesus as the Christ it is often called the birthday of the Christian Church.

In honor of the church’s birthday we celebrate with our Ice Cream Social and serve Ice Cream Sundays at the coffee hour after each service.
